7 Days of Celebration and Giveaways to Commemorate Opening of 7th Ramen Tatsu-Ya Location
ROUND ROCK — Tatsu Aikawa’s nationally-acclaimed ramen restaurant Ramen Tatsu-Ya continues to expand its footprint with an anticipated new location in Round Rock’s Rock Creek Plaza at 2132 North Mays Street, Suite 960. The shop is set to open June 2, 2024 for daily dine-in and takeout service from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
The Menu
Once open, the Austin-based establishment will serve its signature, authentic ramen made with their famous pork-based tonkotsu alongside chicken and veggie-based broths, as well as small bites and sides, house-brewed teas, sake and beer. The restaurant’s coveted, limited-time offerings will also be available, which fans have come to know and love since its inception in 2012.
“The response to the news of Ramen Tatsu-Ya opening in Round Rock has been tremendous; fans have been asking for years for us to open further north in the Austin area, and we’re glad to be making that a reality. We anticipate this being the first of a few new shops to come in the near future,” says Phil Stanton, Tatsu-Ya President.

The Space
The 2,755 square-foot shop that seats about 65 guests will feature the brand’s signature style with its own unique spin, including one-of-a-kind murals by artist Michael Sieben in collaboration with Show Goat, who has adorned multiple Ramen Tatsu-Ya shops with his distinctive, floor-to-ceiling slurp monsters. In addition to Sieben’s work, the restaurant, imagined by Kim Lewis Designs, boasts a spacious dining room with furniture and fabrications by Coterie, Inc., red neon details and signage by Ion Art, as well as a convenient to-go door for customers to walk up and grab their takeout orders. The Round Rock space has come to life with general contracting by Trinity Constructors and architectural services from OPA Design Studio, with top-of-the-line kitchen equipment provided by Amundsen.
“One thing that’s really cool about all the Ramen Tatsu-Ya locations is that there’s continuity in the restaurant designs and the awesome artists we collaborate with, but each location has its own distinct personality, " says Tony Perez, Brand Manager.
Seven Shops and Counting
Round Rock will mark the seventh Ramen Tatsu-Ya location in Texas, with six shops spread throughout the Austin area and one in Houston, not to mention Aikawa’s three iconic, award-winning full-service Austin concepts — new-school shabu-shabu spot dipdipdip Tatsu-Ya, immersive island paradise Tiki Tatsu-Ya, and Texas smokehouse-meets-Japanese izakaya Kemuri Tatsu-Ya.
Local Love at Rock Creek Plaza
Since 2021, Danly Properties has been working to curate a collection of local, “Texas-based businesses familiar to Round Rock residents” at Rock Creek Plaza, Danly Director of Business Development Adam Lewis told Community Impact. Ramen Tatsu-Ya will join local brands such as Kerbey Lane Cafe, Amy’s Ice Creams and P. Terry’s Burger Stand at the North Mays plaza, with more to come.
